After calling you back, our staff reviews your medical history, answers any last-minute questions, and ensures you feel fully prepared for your procedure. During surgery, your doctor and surgical assistants, who are specially trained in sedation and complex dental surgeries, will monitor you closely to maintain your safety and comfort.
Afterward, you’ll recover in a private area where you and your caregiver will receive clear instructions through in-person guidance, video resources, and written materials. You’ll also have direct access to your doctor for any questions that may arise once you return home. Every step of the process is designed to keep you informed, supported, and confident in your care.
What to Know About Sedation
At Capital Dental Implant and Surgery Center, your comfort and safety are our top priorities. Sedation is often recommended for patients undergoing complex dental procedures to help reduce anxiety, minimize discomfort, and ensure a smooth surgical experience. We offer nitrous oxide, oral sedation, and IV sedation.
Our surgical team has advanced training in administering and monitoring sedation, enabling us to tailor the process to your individual needs. Before your procedure, we will review the type of sedation being used, what you can expect to feel during the procedure, and how the recovery process will proceed.
During treatment, you will be closely monitored at all times to ensure your safety. Afterward, our team will provide detailed instructions (both verbal and written) along with helpful videos outlining how to ensure a smooth recovery. You’ll have direct contact with your doctor for any questions that may arise.
Post Surgery Instructions
Surgery and the sedation process can sometimes feel overwhelming, which is why Capital Dental is committed to providing patients and their caregivers with clear, accessible information every step of the way. Prior to discharge, our team thoroughly reviews all post-operative instructions, discusses the healing process in detail, and ensures that any questions are answered. For added peace of mind, patients are also provided with their doctor’s direct contact information.
In our private recovery area, patients and caregivers can view recorded video instructions tailored to the specific procedures performed. These videos reinforce the information provided in person, ensuring everyone involved has a complete understanding of the recovery process. Additionally, each patient receives a thoughtfully prepared care package that includes written materials and other helpful items, designed to support a smooth and informed recovery even after leaving our office.

Dr. Brandon Chapek grew up in a farming family outside of Wahoo, Nebraska. He’s lived in Lincoln, Nebraska for 10 years. He cherishes his rural roots, but he also feels lucky to call Lincoln “home” for him and his family.
