Dental crowns are caps placed over damaged or decayed teeth to restore their shape, size, strength, and appearance. Crowns cover the entire visible portion of the tooth above the gumline. In contrast, dental bridges fill the gap created by missing teeth between two remaining teeth. A bridge consists of two or more crowns for the teeth on either side of the gap (called abutment teeth) and one or more false teeth (called pontics) in between.
Both crowns and bridges are designed to restore function and aesthetics, helping patients maintain a natural-looking and fully functional smile.
